My name is Shahid Meighan and I'm finishing my Master's in investigative journalism at the Walter Cronkite School for Journalism and Mass Communication. I have a Bachelor's degree in psychology and served briefly as a Peace Corps volunteer in Malawi, southeast Africa.

 

I'm an avid reader, and besides reading news stories from Reuters, The Wall Street Journal, The Associated Press and the New York Times I love reading books on Black history and social justice. I also love fiction books, and some of my favorite authors are Chimamanda Adichie, Khaleid Hosseini, and Octavia Butler. 

 

I have expertise in writing enterprise stories, producing audio stories, and video editing. I  also dabble in photography. I will be graduating in December 2022, and I am open to relocating for any opportunities in journalism that come my way.
